Field Trips 1984

We have made one or two changes this year in the way we have organised our Summer programme. Firstly, although we would still like members to book field trips in advance, we would like to make it clear that it is possible to book Trips individually nearer the date rather than booking ahead some months in advance, which we know some members find difficult. Members may turn up on the day without booking, but always risk that we may have left the rendezvous point if we believe the party to be complete. If people have booked, we always wait at least 10 minutes after the allotted time for latecomers, and try where possible to leave directions under the windscreen wipers of a car - look for a BBCS sticker. Secondly, we have decided to experiment with the dates and times of some of our trips. Sunday has always proved the most popular day in the past, but we know some members find this difficult, so this year we have arranged a couple of our field trips for a Saturday. We are also experimenting with some half day trips which we hope will appeal to members who are reluctant to commit themselves for various reasons for a whole day.

We look forward to another successful Summer programme and would be pleased to hear from members of any future improvements they might suggest.

All trips will take place whatever the weather - we have often found that the butterflies are not so easily put off as our members! The branch tries to help those with transport difficulties where it can - if you need a lift ring Stourport 4860 at least two weeks before the date of the trip. Although nothing dire has happened to anyone taking part in one of our trips (yet!), members coming on field trips must realise they do so at their own risk. Please return the enclosed booking form as soon as you can plus the appropriate booking fee.
